Lindsey and I are honored to have the privilege of serving as the Secretaries-General of Patchogue-Medford Model United Nations. We could not be more more proud of how much our club has grown and improved, progressed and dominated throughout the course of the past few years. Lindsey and I look forward to even more growth over the upcoming years.
We would like to thank Plainview/Old Bethpage for inviting us to MetMUNC XXXVIII, St. Francis Prep. for inviting us to PrepMUNC III, Connetquot for inviting us to ConnetMUNC10', and the folks at UNA-USA for inviting us to their 2010 May Conference, held at the United Nations.
Along with our Club Adviser Ms. Lori Botta, Chiefs of Staff Kyle Corbett and Ava Cates, and the Secretariat, we had the honor of conducting Pat-MedMUNC II last year. Held on February 26, 2010, we hope that all delegates in attendance had an exciting and worth-while Conference. We were especially proud to have as our guest speaker, Dr. Palitha T.B. Kohona, Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations. His presentation was absolutely riveting.
Committees this year include: Economic and Social Council, Chaired by Carlos Flores and Danielle Gorospe; European Union. Chaired by Brandon DeLeva and Sonya Khan; General Assembly, Chaired by Pam Ghigliotti and Zack Petker; Security Council, Chaired by Saad Amer and Stephanie Salinas; United Nations Environmental Programme, Chaired by Beth Pagliuca and Mike Marcin; United Nations Human Rights Council, Chaired by Ava Cates and Claudia Dally; and lastly, World Health Organization, Chaired by Josh Levine and Nola McAloon. Topics range from the Development of Small Island States, to Eliminating Forms of Sexual Violence, as well as topics like Piracy to Integrating Modern Medicine into Areas Primarily Using Traditional Medicine.
Pat-MedMUNCIII will be bigger, better, and more exciting than it has ever been before. With so many new surprises and never-before seen Conference additions, Lindsey and I hope that you will enjoy our two day Conference, taking place March 11 and March 12.
